I’m off to NYC to give my 96 year old mother’s caregiver some time off. I won’t be able to check in on your progress because J, my husband, is going to Pittsburgh and the lap top is his. J’s father has been in poor health and was admitted to the hospital today. My mother-in-law needs support so J’s headed west and I’m going to NYC without him or a lap top.
I will be able to listen to WLIB so that will be fun. Not having to sequester myself in the attic to stream radio will seem luxurious, even if it is not quite what I want to hear.
I guess I am not giving up on AAR radio yet, though I do not think I will get up in time for the Riley’s Ramp. Also, my mother has cable. I don’t have it so getting to watch C Span and the shows you all talk about will be fun.

OMG!!!!! PJ, this is not only a real toy, it’s not even remotely related to Marc Maron. This is just the funniest damn thing I’ve seen in YEARS! Not only do I need to get one for Rhiannon (who did not agree after all to change her name to Marc in honor of her birthday being the day MS died…well, she’s only 4…) but we need to get one of these for Marc. Maybe one for Kent Jones, too. (He was Ted from Nebraska, right?)

Bush administration went all out to protect the Pope by declaring him to be a head of state and giving him diplomatic immunity. Then a Texas judge used the immunity to remove the Pope (formerly Ratzinger) from a case in which the Pope helped hide and protect child molesters.

Patino-Arango has been indicted in a criminal case by a Harris County, Texas, grand jury and is a fugitive from justice, the lawsuit says.
Lawyers for one of the alleged victims argued in the lawsuit that a May 18, 2001, letter Ratzinger wrote to bishops around the world was evidence that he was involved in a conspiracy to hide Patino-Arango’s crimes and to help him escape prosecution.
The letter, written when Ratzinger was prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, explains that “grave” crimes such as the sexual abuse of minors would be handled by his congregation and that the proceedings of special church tribunals handling the cases were subject to “pontifical secret.” ”
