The local Fox affiliate covered Saturday’s march in DC by explaining that “celebrities held a protest.” Wow. I had no idea that the CELEBRITIES were in charge of putting it together. Good thing Fox was there to explain this to me.

Java is a programming language used to make small applets that you see and use all over the web.
You could use Media Player for Mac if you want to avoid Real, I’ll scrounge around and see if there’s anything else. I don’t think QT plays .rm files.
I thought Macs came with everything you need to anything Apple has determined you need to do? You may want to consider VLC media player. I don’t believe it does Real, so you’ll have to use either the IceCast stream (which will also play in iTunes, which you no doubt have) or the WM stream (both linked over on the right, under multimedia).
Oh, and Java is a cross-platform programming language (except you need to download the Java Runtime Environment for your particular OS to run it in). The Azreus bittorrent client is written in Java, as is DVArchive, which emulates a ReplayTV on a network (allows me to transfer and stream shows to my computer – in fact, I use a version of VLC that knows how to read the RTV index and skip commercials to view video streams on my computer).

I have the VLC player but it does not seem to work for Air America streams. That’s the player I downloaded from Nova M. I downloaded Windows media but I cannot seem to install it. When I open it, it comes up as text in Excel.

art, I understand what you are saying but I think you may be buying in to the efforts to discredit and demean that the machine uses to do just that. Granted it is the usual suspects except that Jane Fonda has not spoken in 34 years. They demonized her and they will demonize or try to diminish anyone who speaks out with some level of influence in any way necessary. Look at the way they dealt with Sean Penn showing up to help in New Orleans during some of the most desperate times after Katrina. All many saw was an derisive look at one small problem he encountered but the man did something and did a lot of good and he could have just stayed in Mill Valley and complained. Just look at the way they try to belittle AAR, not based on message or facts but just ridicule. Anything to distract from what is really being said or done.

I downloaded Windows Media player for the Marc Maron show live broadcasts. That works well. I also sprung for QT pro so that I can save some of the QT stuff. Also have Wiretap free version for recording whatever.

I don’t think it is particularly likely. There was certainly hope when he was mentioned as being in talks with French, I was somewhat hopeful. Now, well, who knows? Yeah, I don’t recall Marc thinking having Mark Green on MS was actually, um, compelling radio. Don’t know if Mark got his brother to pony up the money as a birthday present or something, or is the brother is really into it. Got deep pockets, apparently, so that could be a good thing, but if it’s just one of these vanity project things (like Goldberg), then things could get even worse. For all ya know, this guy thinks the Satellite Sisters are cutting edge, and the dynamic between Armie and Sammie is enthralling.

Your arrogant, overbearing public behavior has worn thin for many of us. Must I remind you that you and your cohorts haven’t exactly played the game with finesse or civility. You came into this office through a campaign of vicious, personal attacks many of us found revolting. So don’t get too uppity if someone questions you about your pregnant lesbian daughter, someone who also hasn’t exactly been very civil in or to the media. Remind her she also lives a public lifestyle willingly entered.
As for fairness, you and this administration have not exactly been magnanimous or forthright in your dealings with the American people. You can count me among those Americans who still want answers as to how the votes were counted, or not counted, in Florida in 2000. And I will stand tall in demanding a full accounting of you and your secret public energy policy meetings soon after you gained office, along with an in-depth investigation into your connections to Halliburton and your international dealings as CEO before you voluntarily re-entered the political arena. That should do for a start before we move on to this administration’s continual trampling of the Constitution.
So, Mr. Cheney, those of us who have had more than enough of you and your arrogance kindly ask you to do nothing more than be civil for now, since we know you won’t ever be held accountable for your words or deeds.

PJ- I am searching for information on somehow saving my blog somewhere in case Blogger loses it…can you suggest how I could?…this instead of fixing the laptop here that needs some sorta work and is dropping letters left and right!
I sort of want to upgrade to the new blogger but am afraid that my blog might get lost…also am hearing of people whose blogs get hijacked and then tech support wont contact you…..I suddenly got worried that I could lose the whole thing. Not that its so great but it is a chunk of work….and a year or so of my life!

I think all I’d do is change the publish info to publish it to my own ftp server, then republish the whole blog, and then change it back again (or, better yet, just leave it that way).

No, you don’t have to pay extra. You can host up to five “addon” domains under your main account – no charge. It’s quite simple, really.
Besides this one, I have pjsdesigns.com, my poor, much ignored blog at pjsauter.com, and my poor, years neglected personal web page under patricksauter.com. All with associated e-mail accounts and whatnot.
If I ever get around to making a proper front end for seditionradio.com, I’ll toss that in there, too (though I’ll keep the shoutcast server here at home).

Well, since the domain is already pointing to the right place, you go in to your control panel, and add an “addon” domain. Bluehost will create the directory, and what it calls a “subdomain.” It will be named whatever the domain is – e.g., mydomain.com will create a folder under your promary domain named mydomain. Once it’s done, you can just publish the blog to that folder. If you want, I can go in and set it up for you. Just let me know.
I just found it funny because one runs across a lot of ‘holier-than-thou’ folks out there. Nobody who could ever possibly get elected so much as dogcatcher is good enough.
