Gee, Rudy Guiliani really knows how to pick ’em. First Bernie Kerick, and now this guy. How the fuck can this cross-dressing, twice divorced, incompetent piece of crap be running for dog catcher, let alone preznit. Amazing how low dubya’s lowered the bar.

It’s hump day. Go hump.

It’s supposed to be miserable hot here today. No, not 130 degrees or anything, but hot and muggy, which is pretty sucky. Fortunately, there’s some cooler air behind it, so all we have to do is get through some thunderstorms (the dog really doesn’t care for the boom-booms, unfortunately), and then there’s supposed to be some better weather for a few days. Probably turn to shit for the weekend.

Man, these two day weekends are just too damn short. Mine was relatively productive, as far as things go. In addition to the typical happy homeowner stuff, I managed to get a batch of beer bottled and even managed to catch the last couple hours of the US Open. The only thing missing, of course, was my dad. It sure would be nice to sit down and watch some golf with him again (or, better yet, play a round or two).

Booblehead Thread ~ Father’s Day Edition

Oy, back to work tomorrow already, and no Sopranos to get me through the night. At least we have our weekly dose of boobleheads.

On Press the Meat, Timmy Potatohead hosts US Ambassador to Iraq, Ryan Crocker, on to tell us how we’re just about to turn the corner, thanks to Bush’s manly surge. Then it’s WaPost columnist EJ “Poupon” Dionne, Krazy Kate O’Beirne (yet another sad example of what happens when the Irish turn to the dark side), WaPost columnist Eugene Robinson, and flaming asshole, Byron York of the National Review.

Over at CBS, Bush Buddy Bobby Schieffer hosts Mitch “the prick” McConnell, Carl Levin, Li’l Lee Hamilton from the waste of time and money known as the Iraq Study Group.

On Fux News Sunday, Weaselface Wallace boasts an “exclusive” with David Petraeus, who will tell us things ought to be just fin and dandy by the fall (fall of what year, of course, remains a mystery).

Over at Goebbels, George Snufalufagus gets an “exclusive” with Senator MBNA, Joe Biden (tough get there, George), and then sniveling little Lindsey “but I like it in the closet” Graham will be on to whine about whatever Biden had to say. At the roundtable, it’ll be a graduate of the NPR school of hackery, Martha Raddatz, plus David Corn of The Nation and of course George :jerk: Will. Plus, the best president we never really had, Martin Sheen, will be on to talk about restoring the nation’s drug courts.

Over at CNN, looks like the only interesting thing to come out of Wolf Blitzer’s Late Emission this week will be Sy Hersh.

Later, on 60 Minutes, Steve Kroft tells us the story of how over half a billion (with a ‘b’) dollars that was supposed to be used to equip the Iraqi army just kinda up and disappeared. Then Lesley Stahl reports on the clinical trials of a treatment that can make you forget bad stuff (hopefully it’ll be ready for mass distribution by January 2009). And Morley Safer brings us up to speed on what John Daly’s been up to lately.

Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there.

So, the documents are out on the AT&T spy room. According to Wired:

“This configuration appears to have the capability to enable surveillance and analysis of internet content on a massive scale, including both overseas and purely domestic traffic,” Marcus wrote.

AT&T likely has 15 to 20 of these rooms around the country, shipped data out of the rooms via a separate network to another location and collectively, the rooms were able to keep tabs on some 10% of the nation’s purely domestic intenret traffic, according to Marcus.

I guess ten percent isn’t much. As long as you’re not in the ten percent.

Oh, and Happy Flag Day.

So, I guess our boy Fred Thompson was on Jay Leno last night. Didn’t exactly feel compelled to stay up to watch (or even bother to record it). The thought of looking at his puss on the teevee for eight years (as preznit; for two minutes an episode on Law and Order, I can deal) is pretty nauseating, though. Not quite as nauseating as Rudy the cross-dressing Nazi, though. It’s sure gonna be a long, long, time until the ’08 election.

So, I’m checking out this Gallup poll, and it turns out that basically half the people in this country don’t believe in evolution. Not surprisingly, Republicans lead the way, with 68% saying they don’t believe in evolution. I find this pretty amazing, personally. But I reckon it helps to explain why this country has become so tragically pathetic and inept. I think we ought to send all the creationists over to Iraq. Clearly, the magic skywizard will protect them from harm, and the rest of us can stay home and work on developing renewable energy sources, and cars that run on water.

So, Joe Lieberman is on board with attacking Iran. Not surprising, I suppose, but still pretty annoying. He’s like that stupid, annoying kid in school, who keeps acting like an asshole, just to get some attention. And of course the traditional media continue to pay attention to insignificant assholes like him, Newt Gingrich, and Tom Delay, in spite of the fact that they’re totally irrelevant. Personally, I wish they’d all just STFU.
