I was on the highway yesterday, and passed a broken open bag of garbage. It was really windy, so the garbage was strewn all over the place. Not a pretty sight (kind of brought a tear to my eye, like the native American guy in that commercial that you won’t remember unless you’re old), but one that’s pretty rare these days. It reminded me of when I was a kid. Back then, it was pretty common to see somebody toss garbage out their car window. McDonald’s bags, full ashtrays, just plain garbage. Whatever. I guess those commercials actually worked, ‘cuz that kind of shit it pretty much unheard of today.

So, shitty as things have gotten over the years, at least some things have gotten better. Haven’t they? Geez, I hope so. I hope it isn’t all doom and gloom and everything sucks and it’s all hopeless. Al Gore didn’t invent the Internet just so we’d buy more shit and have access to porn, did he? I mean, this is all available to us now, because this is exactly what we need at this time in history to prevent the coming apocalypse, isn’t it?

Geez, I sure hope so. In the meantime, I guess I better go cut the grass.
