Just me and the other animals home today.  Maybe I can try fixing my earbuds today.  A damn wire must&#8217;ve broken or come loose, and I&#8217;ve lost my left side (unless I wiggle and push, which sounds like a lot more fun than it really is).  I was able to slide the boot back from the plug, but under there it&#8217;s plastic and pretty well sealed up.  Anybody know any tricks for getting the plastic stuff off?  Otherwise, I&#8217;m gonna have to cut the damn thing off, and splice on a another one, which will look awfully ugly.  The damn things were expensive, or I wouldn&#8217;t bother (and they&#8217;re just so much more comfortable &#8211; and better sounding &#8211; than anything else I have).
