{"id":5081,"date":"2011-03-02T05:49:31","date_gmt":"2011-03-02T10:49:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/morningseditionists.com\/msblog\/?p=5081"},"modified":"2011-03-02T09:49:47","modified_gmt":"2011-03-02T14:49:47","slug":"psst-dont-eat-the-green-eggs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.morningseditionists.com\/msblog2\/2011\/03\/02\/psst-dont-eat-the-green-eggs\/","title":{"rendered":"Psst&#8230; Don&#8217;t Eat the Green Eggs."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s true that I am not a clerk,<br \/>\nnor am I a soda jerk.<br \/>\nI haven&#8217;t got the wish to shirk,<br \/>\nbut must I <strong><em>really<\/em><\/strong> go to work?  <\/p>\n<p>The one thing that&#8217;d be worse than workin&#8217;,<br \/>\nwould be to have to wear a merkin<br \/>\nin order to warm up my gherkin,<br \/>\nwhile in the shower I be lurkin&#8217;.  <\/p>\n<p>But in order to be able<br \/>\nto pay my bills (like, for cable),<br \/>\nput some food upon the table,<br \/>\nand maybe buy my wife a sable <\/p>\n<p>(not to mention have assurance<br \/>\nthat I can pay for my insurance), <\/p>\n<p>I can see no real good option<br \/>\n(other than perhaps adoption),<br \/>\nthan to drag my ass out of that door<br \/>\nand be a dirty wage slave whore<br \/>\n(for today and evermore).  <\/p>\n<p>The one thing that is surely certain,<br \/>\nhowever bad I might be hurtin&#8217;,<br \/>\nis that there&#8217;s truly no way out<br \/>\n(no matter how I stomp and shout).  <\/p>\n<p>No way for me, not for a fox,<br \/>\n(not even for a big old ox) &#8211;<br \/>\nexcept for feet first in a box.<\/p>\n<p>And though my neck feels in a noose<br \/>\n(I do admit, I&#8217;m quite obtuse),<br \/>\ndon&#8217;t think I am a silly goose,<br \/>\nwhen I say &#8220;Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>OK, I admit that&#8217;s pretty bad, but, hey give me a break, it&#8217;s early.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s true that I am not a clerk, nor am I a soda jerk.
