It was really windy, so the garbage was strewn all over the place.  Not a pretty sight (kind of brought a tear to my eye, like the native American guy in that commercial that you won&#8217;t remember unless you&#8217;re old), but one that&#8217;s pretty rare these days.  It reminded me of when I was a kid. Back then, it was pretty common to see somebody toss garbage out their car window.  McDonald&#8217;s bags, full ashtrays, just plain garbage.  Whatever.  I guess those commercials actually worked, &#8216;cuz that kind of shit it pretty much unheard of today.<\/p>\n<p>So, shitty as things have gotten over the years, at least <strong><em>some<\/em><\/strong> things have gotten better.  Haven&#8217;t they?  Geez, I hope so.  I hope it isn&#8217;t all doom and gloom and everything sucks and it&#8217;s all hopeless.  Al Gore didn&#8217;t invent the Internet just so we&#8217;d buy more shit and have access to porn, did he?  I mean, this is all available to us now, because this is exactly what we need at this time in history to prevent the coming apocalypse, isn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<p>Geez, I sure hope so.
