Back in 1975 – right around this time of year, as I recall – the NY Daily News ran the headline, “Ford to City: Drop Dead.” I’d like to see them run a new headline today: “Bush to Kids: Fuck You.” They won’t, of course. For one thing, William J. Brink is dead. And “screw you” might be a bit more likely, but they won’t run that, either. It would be nice if the Democrats would press that point – that Bush hates kids, and values insurance company profits above kids getting healthcare. Maybe they will, and maybe the traditional media will get that message out. But I doubt it. It’s pretty fucking disgusting, if you ask me. If we can’t ensure that every American can have healthcare, can’t we at the very least make sure every kid in this country gets it? I guess not.
