I don’t know about you, but I certainly stayed up past my bedtime last night. While sleazy McCain did a good job for what he is, it seemed pretty clear to me that Obama is the obvious best choice. Whether the “undecided” folks out there saw it the same way, who knows? But the reviews seem to be favoring Obama. So are the initial polls. Whether that holds up or not, I guess we’ll see.

I, too, was up way too late and worse it took a long time for me to fall asleep. Rachel Maddow was on at some ungodly hour and I watched her.
The chat room was really great. It was nice to hear from old friends like Farmerkat, Melina and Jill. It got me through the debate without putting any foreign objects through the TV.

The Shelter Island Reporter, the weekly local newspaper on this little island, had a front page story about a new rule against distributing absentee ballots at the local post office. Believe it or not, this resulted in the National Postal Service reversing itself and allowing the ballots to be distributed, nationwide, in post offices.

So, have you guys ever eaten squash blossoms? :love: OMG! You can stuff them with anything, usually some sort of cheese is included and then you dip them in a tempura batter and fry them. They’re incredible! I’m stuffing them with ham, broccoli and feta cheese. So, don’t ignore those blossoms on your zucchini plant!
Oh, be sure to take out the stamen. Not sure why bit that’s what the lady at the farmers market told me.
I had squash blossoms first when I was in Crete many years ago. They made dolmas with them. Great stuff.
