Hmm. Tough day on Wall St. yesterday (not to mention London, Shanghai, São Paulo, Bombay, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Singapore – you name it). I’m afraid to even look at my retirement accounts. Not that there’s exactly a ton of money in there to begin with, but it’s still better to see it go up a little, than take a nose dive. Especially since it’s not like I’m putting anything into it these days. What the hell I was ever thinking with this grad school stuff is beyond me. Oh well, maybe March will be a better month. February sure was a tough one.

Not that anybody cares, but SU whomped Georgetown last night. In Syracuse in late February, there are few things better than that. Now, if I can remember to go out and get a winning Mega Millions ticket before tonight’s drawing, maybe I can collect the $216 million, and take the rest of my life off. Hey, it’s either that, or convince everybody I’m the father of Anna Nicole’s baby.

Well, finally got junior moved out yesterday. Not everything, mind you. I’ll be tripping over his shit for years to come. Still, it managed to kill enough time that I probably won’t be able to get the shit I need to done by noon today. Could be worse, I guess. I coulda been born one of the whahoos in “Friends of God: A Road Trip.” Oy.

Ok, what do these clods have in store for us this week?

On Press the Meat, Timmuh hosts an exclusive with Carl Levin. I hope Levin pops him one right in pig fat potato head. Then it’s a roundtable with Maureen Dowd, on to snark about Clinton and Obama some more, one of Washignton Post’s hacking crew, Dan Balz, Republican presidential groupie Doris Kearns Goodwin, and the hacktacular Byron York of the National Review.

Over on Faze the Nation, Bush pal Bobby Scheiffer hosts Ahnuld da Gropenator, plus John Edwards.

On Fux News Sunday, it’s Lizardmania with Condi Rice, plus Texas Governor Rick Perry, and PA Governeor Ed Rendell.

On the Goebbels network, George Snufalufagus hosts Jimmy Carter, on to tell us Al Gore should run for President, and Bush and Cheney are a couple of bumbling, incompetent, dangerous assholes (Jimmy will no doubt be a bit more eloquent), plus another visit from the Lizard Queen. Then, the Axis of Drivel is reunited again, with Cokie “the hag” Roberts, Sam :omg: Donaldson, and George :jerk: Will. Plus, actor Patrick Dempsey is on to talk about his mother’s ovaries (or lack thereof).

Over on CNN, Wolf BLitzer’s Late Emission includes Iraq’s national security adviser, Dr. Mowaffak al-Rubies, former SecState, Madeleine Albright, war criminal Henry Kissinger, crazy-ass Sam Bareback Brownback, occasional Democrat, Jane Harman, and nutty little Duncan “Screw the Buddhists and kill the Muslims” Hunter.

Later, on 60 Minutes, Mike Wallace interviews bombastc blowhard Bill O’Reilly (why?), Lara Logan talks to some of the more than 1,000 active-duty and reserve members of the U.S. military that have signed a petition calling for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, and Bob Simon does a story on how Fox News the Nazis created a model town to show the world they were treating Jews well.

And then there’s all your usual Sunday night entertainment fare, including, of course, an all new episode of Battlestar Galactica. Enjoy your Sunday.

Pretty beat today. Actually had to leave the house to go to class last night, and didn’t get home ’til about 9:30. Good thing it’s fairly warm out, but I’m still pretty beat. We also got our cat back home yesterday. He was a pretty sick little fella, and he’s still not out of the woods yet, but at least he’s home (though we’ve had to keep him isolated from the rest of the gang, which I don’t think he’s terrible happy about. Well, lots more of the catching up type stuff to do. Don’t know that I’ll ever get through this semester. Don’t really even know that I care. Isn’t it about time for spring break or something?

Ah, Ash Wednesday. Brings back memories. Back when I was in college (the first couple times), Ash Wednesday was the day we’d dig into our ashtrays, schmear a cross on our foreheads, and then go out in search of Catholic girls. Since I went to SUNY schools, they were a bit of an exotic commodity. Of course, in Buffalo, we could always go over to “The Locker Room,” which was a bar over by Canisius – a Jesuit school – (or make the trek up to Niagara, but Canisius was just a few blocks down Main Street). There were usually one or two rich girls looking to rub daddy’s nose in it. If that didn’t work, there was always Buff State to fall back on.

Anyhow, you’re supposed to give up something for lent. As for me, I think I’ll just plain give up.

Now that I seem capable of remaining conscious for several hours at a time, again, I have time to think about how far behind in everything I am. It’s enough to make me sick.

Another Monday rolls in, as I try to figure out why I’m supposed to care that Britteny Spaniel Spears shaved her head (or anything else). Thom Hatmann’s first day in the Franken slot today. Everybody should call in and ask to speak with Marc.
