Well, I guess it’s about time we got serious about the Seditionists Radio Network, seeing as AAR (which I really had such high hopes for) has turned out to be such a huge failure.  I’m glad Marc didn’t take them up on their “offer,” since they’d have probably dragged him out there for a week and then sent him packing again.  Well, anyway, have a good one.

Well, turns out that today’s the day I actually have to go to class, not yesterday.  Hard to believe it’s barely three days into classes, and I’m  already up to my ass in work.  Hopefully, the dog won’t mind if we take a break today, since I’ve got a lot to do.  Otherwise, well, it was nice to hear Marc on MR last night. Sure would be nice to be able to hear him every day.  I recorded Conan, and I’ll have to watch it when I get a chance. So, I guess I’d better get going.  Have a good one.

So, looks like creepy little crazy guy John Karr was definitely jerking everybody’s chain with his “confession.”  So, who thinks Karl Rove planted the guy?  Whatever this guy did or didn’t do, he still has X-Files written all over him.  I bet he can squeeze through a sewer pipe.  Let’s see what they cook up next to take our attention away from what a great job they’ve been doing.

Shit, school starts today.  Of course, I don’t actually have to go to campus, since my only “in person” class is tomorrow (at the crack of 2 in the afternoon, too; getting up is gonna suck).  So, if you thought two and a half months of me bitching about being in DC was bad, wait’ll you get a load of me bitching about school for the next three months.  You’re just lucky you don’t have to live with me (for oh, so many reasons).

Anyhow, y’all have a good Monday.

What a great Marc show last night.  OK, I’m just guessing it was a great show; I wrote this ahead of time.  A big thank you to Melina for allowing us to descend upon her home, and for putting up with us so we could go to the show.  I really wish we could stay for the Comedy Central taping tonight, but we gotta get back to check on the dog, and make sure his grandparents didn’t lose him or anything.

As for today’s talking head lineup, here’s all I have:

On Press the Meat, it’s N.O. Mayor Ray Nagin, plus David Paulison of FEMA, to explain what a heckuva job their doing.  Then, it’s the traitor, Count Novakula (why would you possibly have this asshole on any legitimate show; oh, that’s right, it’s Timmuh), batshit crazy Kate O’Beirne (yet another waste of air), Mr. Judy Woodruff, Al Hunt, and Eugene Robinson (presumably the WaPost coulmnist, and not the former NFL player).

Over at Faze the Nation, it’s David Paulison once again (I reckon it’ll be a Katrina kinda day all over), plus Haley Barbour (which sounds like it ought to be a hot babe, but unfortunatley is just the Republican twerp Governor of Mississippi).

On This Weak with George Snufalufagus, it’s an “exclusive” with Brownie himself, as well as Senator Mary Landrieu, plus the Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding, Don Powell. Then, in possibly the only thing worth watching before the season (or is it the series?) finale of Deadwood, it’s Bill Nye the Science Guy, who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is about Pluto (no, not a cartoon character expos&eaccute;, but the Pluto formerly known as a planet).

On Fux News Sunday, weaselfaced prick (or is it prickfaced weasel?) Chrissy Wallace has Don Powell, N.O. City Council President Oliver Thomas, Senator Joe “what is it with Seantors named Joe, anyway?” Biden, and Steve Case, co-founder of AOL.

On CNN’s Late Emission, the wolfman has Nouri al-Maliki (for our neocon lurkers, that’s Iraq’s Prime Minister), falling short of Michael Powell’s record, but giving it a good run, it’s Donald Powell (again), plus the distrubingly named Dick Lugar, Carl Levin, and LA Gov., Kathleen “the Babineaux” Blanco.

Later, on 60 Minutes, it looks like a full hour of Ray Nagin, as he gives Byron Pitts (I guess 60 Minutes’ regular black guy, Ed Bradley, is on vacation or something) a tour of how the reconstruction is going in New Orleans (BTW, if you haven’t seen Spike Lee’s documentary on HBO – I’ve only gotten through Parts I & II myself – it aint real easy watching – you should see if you can get hold of it).

Then of course there is the aforementioned Deadwood finale, plus new episodes of the 4400 and the Dead Zone (or you can watch a documentary on the Military Channel – I liked it better when that was the Discovery Wings channel – about “our” guys – the 10th Mountain Division, based at Fort Drum in Watertown, NY, and who have had the privilege of being deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and have taken their share of casualties).

Have a good Sunday.

Well, we’re up and out early this morning, on our way to visit our CT connection (that’d be Melina, not Joe Lieberman), and take the train into NYC to get us some of that funny. My wife made me give the dog a bath so he could stay with his grandparents, so Marc better be worth it. I’m thinking maybe we can bring him a couple of cats or something. The best part is, I get to use my GPS thing, which I think has been kinda lonely lately (I think the Australian female voice kinda has a crush on me). Anyhow, I dunno as I’ll get to blog while we’re gone, so y’all keep things lively around here, and we’ll give you a show review when we get a chance.

Happy Saturday.

Exciting day here for me, as I’ll be going in to get the oil changed on my car.  There was a time when I’d have scoffed at anybody actually paying somebody else to change their oil, but, well, it just doesn’t pay to do it yourself anymore.  That, and I’m old and lazy now (and then you have to get rid of the damn used oil, and I just wouldn’t feel right dumping it over the back fence, bleeding heart liberal tree hugger that I am).  Last weekend before school starts up again.  That sucks.

Well, according to the MR blog last night, Sammy will have a “positive” announcement to make re: the fate of the Majority Report.  So, I reckon it’s (finally) the boot for Springer, and Sam get’s the 9 – noon slot.  Or maybe Springer will be on from 8 to 10 PM, after Rachel?  Or a new show?  And then there’s the morning slot, if there’s still gonna be an AAR morning show.  I suppose we can still hold out a little hope (but probably not our breath) for Maron to pop up again, though I’m wondering if he might not be enjoying getting back to doing standup more than doing radio.  Time will tell, I guess.  Odds are whatever happens, we’ll hear about it from anywhere else but AAR first.

Have a good Thursday.

Gee, poor old George Allen seems to have lost the huge lead he once had on James Webb – it’s down to just three points, 48% – 45%. I don’t understand – he seems like such a nice guy.  I think it’s all the fault of that nasty old news media, misquoting Allen and all.  Hopefully Ned Lamont can pick up a few points, too.

I see that the NHTSA is requiring that car manufacturers tell you if you’ve got one of those Event Data Recorders (aka, Black Box) installed in your car (hint, if you buy a new car, you probably do) by 2011.  You not only have to pay for these things, but they’re next to impossible to turn off, and you don’t even own the data that they collect if you’re in a crash (and of course, who’s to say how accurate the goddman things are).  Well, just shut up and deal with it.

Oh, and president dummy says that anybody who thinks we ought to pull out of Iraqshows a lack of understanding of world politics.” Must be true, ‘cuz Joe Lieberman told him so.

Have a good one.
