It’s been quite a friday so far. Started watching “Shock and Awe” that FreeSpeechTV was showing for a fund raiser- got in touch with how out of touch and inured I’ve become to the horribly injured and dead children that my country has perpertrated upon humanity.

    Couldn’t take anymore.

Then stepping out into our sunny little sideyard, I started to pick up clumps of dog hair and mulch. The hair was so warmed by the sun, it felt like I was touching him…..,
and I was reminded what a gift life is and what strong memories it leaves.

Media Jump Ship From Obama To Clinton

In a blink of an eye, the media has jumped ship from the Obama campaign and become a crucial Clinton ally, pressing just the message — that Obama is a likely loser in the general election — that Hillary and her allies have been promoting for the past six weeks.

April 23, 2008 — BEST wishes to Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson. Having lived together since 1995, the downtown duo finally married in secret April 12 in Colorado. They celebrated in New York the other night with drinks and dessert at the East Village townhouse of Karin and Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. Guests included Julian and Olatz Schnabel, limbo king Mike Quashie, tai chi legend Master Ren, Hal Willner of “SNL,” and Richard Belzer of “Law & Order.” Beauregard Houston-Montgomery spent the night playing with Belzer’s dog, Bebe, and the Reed-Anderson’s dog, Lolabelle.

Joseph Wassmann thought he had a secure position producing videos for the U.S. Military Academy, but not long ago he found his job on the line because of a Bush administration plan to inject more efficiency into the federal bureaucracy.

But as Bush’s presidency winds down, the program’s critics say it has had disappointing results and shaken morale among the federal government’s 1.8 million civil servants.

Private contractors have grown increasingly reluctant to participate in the competitions, which federal employees have won 83 percent of the time.

Human beings may have had a brush with extinction 70,000 years ago, an extensive genetic study suggests. The human population at that time was reduced to small isolated groups in Africa, apparently because of drought, according to an analysis released Thursday.

The report notes that a separate study by researchers at Stanford University estimated the number of early humans may have shrunk as low as 2,000 before numbers began to expand again in the early Stone Age.

Limbaugh was essentially trying to incite his radio listeners to riot in Denver during the Dem convention. It is pretty clear that he was pushing strongly for it, but then the limpballs came out of their folds of fat, and he started backtracking, by claiming that he was only “dreaming” of riots. Malloy had a very good point as it was very disgusting.

The whole thing reaks of Agent Provocateur and any riots, should they occur, will have a huge Republican stimulus.

Gosh, look at the ADS say OBAMA on BOTH stations.

Answer a simple question instead of your hyperbole, saying NOTHING except PRO OBAMA. Just answer a direct question — Prove what I said about the stations is wrong!?!

Think of our ForeFathers … this is time for debate. F. & :fu:
AAR & NOVA M, like REPUBLICANS, they are trying to PUSH THEIR MEDIA “Spin” — SOLELY THEIR VIEW! Why not have different views on same station — AT LEAST ONE STATION. … There Are More Views Than JUST THEIRS! But Just Like Republicans you are FORCING ONE MINDSET DOWN EVERYONES THROAT, even to others — with 1/2 ish VOTE. IT IS DARN NEAR 50/50 choice :smack: 🙄 :pirate: :tap:

  42. vernon says:

:fustrate: Never mind. I made my point and for the life of me I don’t see hyperbole. The sourced HuffPo article had a point. You choose not to accept them. Whatever.

May I point out that at least at AAR, there is significant Hill support in the upper levels of the network and on the air. I believe someone got fired there over it. If individual show hosts have decided they prefer O’Bama, the networks can’t really get away with firing them. Even at that, the ones I hear when I listen all say they will support the Clintons if they happened to win.

Try Taylor Marsh. She might be more to your liking.

    And as I said before

Looking forward to seeing sourcing for all of the Obama lies and repug crossover to subvert the the Democratic selection process. I do recall see something about him lying about the defining issue of this election, the flag pin.

  44. Kristapea says:

Druid, the talk shows are biased, it’s their job to give their opinion based on the news they hear. I don’t know where you can get “unbiased” news anymore, certainly not the teevee. The fact is, Farias, Hartmann, Rhodes, Seder and Maron all have formed their opinion on the news they’ve heard on both candidates and it’s their job to give their analysis. To call them biased is redundant. But I listen too and they take all calls pro Clinton and pro Obama and most of them bend over backwards to give Clinton Supporters a voice despite their support for Obama, even YOU! Quit crying foul and playing the victim and fight the right! :fist:

I think Limpprick was just talking to his ditto head listeners .. talking about the riots that happened at the dem convention in Chicago ( which i think we know were promoted by the Chicago police) ..

One has to understand the ditto head mind set ( assumes a mind to start with) that disagreement is bad that everything must be orderly,, This also seems to be the theme promoted by the “new” AAR even though for anyone who has tried to be politically active it just amounts that much more BS.

The system is broken and an election by itself won’t fix it .. a bunch of sociopaths hanging from lamp posts on the other hand … :reaper: :reaper:

  46. fred says:
    April 26, 2008 at 12:07 am

Talk radio ( when they allow the listeners to call in) is susposed to be controversial so the talker isn’t susposed to to necessarily be neutral in their view point .Schultz is a good example .. he often takes positions that offend people .. I think to see if anyone is really paying attention. :tap: :tap:

I found Ring of Fire to be an 😮 😮 Oh dear kind of show.. It shows unregulated capitialism to be the great satin.. but .. as usual doesn’t offer any real solutions. :reaper: :reaper:

  48. artnorton says:

I thought the more interesting point that Malloy had was that “recreate 68”, an activist group that promises to cause some trouble here in august, is really a cia counter-intel front trying to attract crazies like they did in the sixties. It’s headed by Glenn Spagnuolo who is a protege of Ward Churchill- who I think is a fraud.

  49. fred says:
    April 26, 2008 at 12:19 am

I really don’t think that the typical Amerikan is getting thier news from any source in particular .. They probably surf MSNBC’s web page twice a day while at work and maybe watch Lenno or SNL .. The news channels have very poor ratings ( like 4 to 8 million a night) Walter Cronkite on the other hand had 40 million viewers a night ( but that was before 200 channels of distractions ( aka :crap: ) on cable)

I think the :sheep: le play spin the bottle a lot to make decisions .

  52. Kristapea says:
    April 26, 2008 at 12:37 am

Well, I think most Americans absorb their news ubiquitously. They don’t pay attention to anything in particular. And when you do it that way you tend to get the MSM spin for the most part. That’s why the rethugs have concentrated their efforts on the teevee and radio. Maybe papers too. If they realize what the MSM has done to them maybe they will get mad, especially when they have to stand in line for food.

  53. vernon says:

The last point there (well, now #49er) fred is pretty salient. I don’t think people do pay much attention and I don’t think MSNBC is their go to source. There are so many options now that it is totally fragmented but I would bet if you added it all up it would still not equal the days when we had three networks and the likes of Cronkite and Brinkley and Chancellor adjusted for a larger population today.

The point I didn’t make was that the outlets that we are mostly focused on like progressive talk and lefty blogs are a drop in the ocean compared to the media in the HuffPo piece. However, the subject was changed and I can’t deal with the moving target.

On the other hand, fred, you must be very excited about this convention coming to Denver.

Now that I have driven everyone away, I have a question of you prog talk listeners. I have quit listening to most shows of late, not because they don’t agree with me because I kinda like that, but it is too much of the same. If anyone listens to Randi, can you tell me if her show is different now that she is at Nova M. When I hear it, she sounds like she has a bunch of people around making noise but not really contributing and substance. Was it that way at AAR?

Kristapea, I came here due do to Maron … not you.

Stop name calling or I will join in.

    Further Waste Of My Time.
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF KGO …. 🙄 ?.
That particular station I listened to for a goodly percent of Time EVEN even when in school down in L..A., broad-casted OUT OF SAN FRANCISCO… and they STILL have a bit of conservative dem, medical, right wing rethugs for a few to end up with HOURS into the night WITH LIBERAL DEMs & MINDS … and different few minutes with ALL view throughout the day — 🙄 — during day I listened (although also going to school) to NPR. —
I LISTENED TO THEM FOR DECADES and only since the Beginning of AAR.
I thought this was for all … these are the only TWO stations … oh BTW
the Obama stations generally go 4 to 5 Obama calls to 1 pro Hillary Call. I have even heard some shows, most of the time, are all pro Obama, but I see many pro Hillary callers have realized these 2 stations are truly republican pro Obama radio stations – so they are not even be bother with these wee blogs.
BTW you silly twit — I told you before, I am trying to be nice to you, but do not insult me, for I fight back :rofl2: me the victim :rofl2:
I speak to ones in Brazil,. Mexico, America, Australia, ENGLAND, IRELAND, SCOTLAND and so many more, pedestrian dear. And the contacts are building. :rofl2: and this is small time, compared contacts — for now — compared to in the ’80s … edit again: don’t be so droll Kristapea. 🙄
