If you forgot to set your clocks ahead last night, you may be in luck, and have already missed today’s talking heads. Otherwise…

On today’s Press the Meat, Timmy Potatohead has Andy’s Governor, Ed Rendell on to tell us why Clinton is gonna win it all, and Tom Daschle (remember him?) on to tell us why Obama is the man with the plan. Then it’s a roundtable with WaPost purveyor of conventional wisdom, Dan Balz, LA Times columnist Ron Brownstainstein, WSJ Republican shill, John Harwood and NPR’s Gwen Ifill.

On CBS’s Faze the Nation, Bush Buddy Bobby Schieffer packs a lot of guests into a half hour, as he hosts Howard :omg: Dean (damn shame he isn’t president now), Kevin’s Senator, Wild Bill Nelson, Republican asshole Ed Rollins, and Joe Hippy Dippy Trippi.

On Fux News Sunday, it’s Super Debbie Day, as Weaselface Wallace hosts superdelegates Debbie Dingell and Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Then there’s Republican Mike Pence to tell us how well things are going in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the usual assortment of Fux News fuxheads.

On the Goebbels network, George Snufalufagus has Howard Dean (in case you missed him earler) and Carl Levin, plus Kevin’s Senator Jesus Charlie Crist. Best of all, the axis of drivel is reunited with a roundtable of Cokie “the hag” Roberts, Sam :omg: Donaldson and George :jerk: Will.

Wolf Blitzer’s Late Emission includes Marc Morial of the National Urban League, former chess champion and Russian rabble rouser,
Garry Kasparov, Krista’s Senator, Krazy John Kyl, and Andy’s Senator, Bob Casey.

Later, on 60 Minutes, ScottPelley profiles Saint John McCain, Bob Simon tells us about two lawyers who kept the secret that their client had committed murder while an innocent man went to jail (and is still there, 26 years later), and Lesley Stahl profiles some rich asshole named Carl Icahn.

On a sad note, tonight is the final episode of The Wire on HBO. I’ll miss that show.

And, of course, the big news of the weekend is the new edition to our homefamily

Fritzi

Siggy isn’t quite sure what to make of him, and we haven’t seen the cats since we brought him home. But he sure is cute, and the nicest little fella you could ask for (except for Siggy, who remains the best doggie in the whole wide world).

Have a good one!

Stock market tanked, jobs are down, and our Democratic candidates for President are trying like hell to give us President McCain. Things are shaping up quite nicely, doncha think?

What? Friday already? Hard to believe. I’m starting to get the itch to build a new computer again. Seeing as I have more computers than I know what to do with at the moment, it’s an itch I’ll be trying not to scratch. One of these days, I really ought to learn how to sell these things. Not today, though.

So, looks like we’ve got at least three more weeks of vitriol, backbiting, hatred and all around snottiness to look forward to on the lead up to the Pennsylvania primary. I’m going to make every effort at ignoring it as much as possible. Maybe I’ll even get some work done.

Didn’t bother watching the returns for long last night. By the time I gave it up, everything but VT was too close to call. Haven’t looked to see if that stayed true, but if it did, the pressure will be on Clinton to give it up. I guess I’ll go see what the final score was.

So, how stupid are the Florida and Michigan State Democratic Parties? Here, they just wanted so badly to feel important they felt they needed to push their primaries up, and all they wound up doing was making themselves irrelevant. I mean, people are pretty much paying attention to what goes on in Texas and Ohio today, aren’t they?

As for me, whoever the hell wins, I really wish it would all end today (though looking at the polls, that’s looking more and more doubtful). I’m just plain sick and tired or it all. I’m tired of Obama sniping at Clinton, and I’m tired of Clinton sniping at Obama. I’m sick of the 50% of the callers to the various radio shows bitching that the hosts are being mean to Obama, and I’m sick of the other 50% bitching that the hosts are being mean to Clinton.

I just want it to stop, so we can all start being mean to McCain.

I just downed on me that it’s March already. And today, it’s supposed to be in the upper 50’s. Not that it would get cold again but Spring is just about here now. Pretty soon, it’ll be too damn hot again. Now, if I could just go back to bed.

This could be the final Booblehead day before the nominations are all but wrapped up, as we have Texas and Ohio (and Rhode Island and Vermont, but they’re just piddly little states, delegate-wise) coming up on Tuesday. So I guess we know what today’s shows will probably be all about.

It’s another ugly day on Press the Meat, as the potatoheaded one has odd couple James “cupie doll” Carville and his shrill and annoying wife, Mary Matalin. Plus there’s Bob Shrum and Michael Murphy. All-in-all, another show worth missing.

Over at CBS, it’s Democrat day, as Bush Buddy Bobby Schieffer hosts Obamite Chris Dodd, Clintonista Evan Bayh, and Bill Richardson.

On Fux News Sunday, Weaselface Wallace has another pair of campaign surrogates in DINO Dianne Feinstein (Clinton supporter) and Dick Durbin (Obama man). Plus, as an added thrill, it’s the Nazi Pillsbury Dough Boy, Karl Rove. Plus the usual Fuxheads, of course.

The surrogate parade continues on the Goebbels network with Clintonite Howard Wolfson and Obamaniac, David Axelrod. Then, of course there’s the roundtable, with New York Times’ douche bag David Brooks, ABC News’ dickhead Matthew Dowd, political mastermind Donna Brazile and George :jerk: Will.

Far be it for Wolf Blitzer to do anything unique, and today is no different as his Late Emission includes Silvestre Reyes representing the Clinton campaign and John Kerry for Obama. Plus Wolfie has DNC Chairman Howard Dean. Also, there’s NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, asshole and House Minorty Whip Roy Blunt, and a bunch of CNN ‘experts.’

Later, on 60 Minutes, it’s more of the same as Steve Kroft talks to both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and reports from Ohio. Then Scott Pelley reports on Remote Area Medical, which was founded to bring free medicine to the remote parts of the world but now also helps out some of the 47 million people with no health insurance in that third-world country known as George Bush’s America. And David Martin reports on the Pentagon’s new Ray Gun, a supposedly non-lethal weapon they expect to use as crowd control in Iraq.

The there’s the penultimate episode of The Wire on HBO.

Enjoy your Sunday, y’all. Back to the shit hole tomorrow.

I’m glad it’s Saturday. But, as much as I don’t care for my job, I’m really glad I don’t work for these people.

A supervisor at a motivational-coaching business in Provo, Utah, is accused of waterboarding an employee in front of his sales teammates to demonstrate that they should work as hard on sales as the employee had worked to breathe.

In a lawsuit, former Prosper Inc. salesman Chad Hudgens alleges his managers also allowed the supervisor to draw mustaches on employees’ faces, take away their chairs and beat on their desks with a wooden paddle “because it resulted in increased revenues for the company.”

Yeah, that’d motivate me. Motivate me to kick somebody’s ass. You beat my desk with a wooden paddle, and don’t be surprised if you find a wooden paddle up your ass so far it tickles your throat. And if you waterboard me, you better go ahead and fuckin’ kill me, cuz if you don’t, I’ll be shoving you head down a toilet as soon as you let me go.

You wanna steal my chair? Go ahead. I’ll just go home. See ya.

Fifth Frickin’ Friday in February Open Thread

Happy Leap Day, everybody. Even more special than Leap Day is that this is the fifth Friday in February, which only happens in leap years when February 1st is on a Friday. And that’s only something like once every 28 years, so this is only the second one in my lifetime (so far; it’s about 50-50 odds that I’ll be around for another one).

I thought maybe there would be some interesting things that would happen on such an auspicious day, but couldn’t really find much. On the last one – in 1980 – Gordie Howe became the first NHL player to score 800 goals. Before that, in 1952, Dick Button won his 5th consecutive World Figure Skating championship. That’s about it, I guess. Not too exciting.

Maybe Bill O’Reilly could give away free falalaloofahs on fifth Friday in February day? Or at least the first five hundred fifty-five Fox fascists who buy four falalafaloofahs get the fifth fucker for free.

Yeah, the weekend came about a day late this week.
