Sorry, I’ve been staring at this blank text box for quite a while now, and I’ve got nothing to write. Just seems like it’s the same old shit every day. The Republicans are evil, the Democrats suck, last year was the hottest on record, the polar ice caps are gonna be gone in 15 years, the Chinese are gonna start selling their dollars, I didn’t win the lottery again, we’re waist deep in the big muddy, Hillary sucks, work sucks, Air America sucks, Fred Phelps sucks, everything sucks, sucks, sucks. It used to suck, it still sucks, and it’s probably always gonna suck. And it’s all just the same.
:omg: anybody seen this yet?
:jason: bye bye ecomony
If people want to get involved in Ponzi schemes, fine with me.
 oh and yes i know i spelled ecomony wrong i did it on purpose just on the off chance any of you believe i forgetted how to spell the words…… now punctutation on the other hand yeah im bad at that
From the HuffPost:
I suppose I should point out that I don’t much care for Clinton or Obama, and am leaning toward Edwards, assuming Kucinich fails to gain any traction. I’m also beginning to like Dodd.
The stock market and such are similar to pyramid and Ponzi schemes at their core. People have to realize that they can’t go on forever.
Did anyone else notice during the debate that every time Olbermann went across the panel with a question, Kucinich had the last word? Sometimes it’s good to be the wingnut on the far end of the stage, I guess. I wonder if that was just a happy accident, or if Keith did it on purpose.
And Druid, I almost apologize for saying this, and please don’t take it personally, but
FUCK BARRY BONDS. :fu: :fu: :fu:
Cheaters prosper.
What a perfect example of life under Bush. Do what you have to do to get what you want, and to hell with the consequences.
Hank Aaron had more class in his pinky toe than Barry Bonds has in every massively swelled ounce of his artificially-oversized head.
OK, I’m done now. Thanks. :peace:
Kevin, I am just glad someone is up at this time…
Say what one will? He has been for years an ‘uber hitter and so intensely viewed, that even now he is “squeeky” clean. Even daughter has a bit of a “Big” head….And if that is the only proof, after the many “dissections” then, well I NEED FACTS not rumours … … and … well… … … 3 strikes “‘nd yur out!” A!!I!V!

Well, he had really good statistics up until he was 38, when they went through the roof (at a time when you’re lucky as an athlete to come close to maintaining what you once had). There’s very little (really, no) doubt that he used steroids – knowingly – and got himself an unnatural boost. Whether one thinks that’s good, bad, or are indifferent, is up to the individual to decide. I mostly couldn’t give a crap about baseball, personally. Though, I will say that Barry Bonds is no Hank Aaron.
I  Edwards as … … … wait for it … … … wait for it ……

Good Morning :joe: When one of these Phelps morons dies there should be protests at their funeral. Let’s give it back to them in spades. Maybe they are trying to become the most hated family in America.
 whats picky packy?
“it’s the econimy, stupid”
the best thing that could happen to democrats is for the economy to go belly-up. trouble is, the rethugs will probably prop it up until after the election…if they can!
That’s ticky tacky, Sean.

Did any of the AFLCIO people throw a brick at any of the dems ?? :omg: :reaper: :reaper:
For most wage earners the economy already is belly up.. .. if it gets any worse they will have to apply for work in Venezuela and Iran. There might be, lots of jobs for people like laid off, ticked off atomic workers and nuclear physicists
These guys and girls have been there and done that so it should speed things along quite rapidly. :reaper: :reaper:
Oh what oh what to get ticked off listening to today ?? :jason: :jason:
The Phelps morons should get the Rose-lawn $25 funeral that’s when they let rigimortis set in then pound them in head first with a pile driver. :jason: :jason:
A lot of the corporate profits look to me to be quite Enron like so not only is the market a legalized crap shoot it might well be fraudulent under the non enforcement of the B* admin.
A lot of these corporate profits are also driven by consolidation and the monopolization of some industries . ( oil is a good example).. Monopolies have been illegal since Teddy Roosevelt but so what under the B* admin..
Do the dems get to much $$$ from the corps to break them up .. actually encourage completion.?? . re regulate the media and the airlines, ??
Propbably not it will probably require :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :fist:
On Monday, Hardball invited Mark Green, president of Air America, and former Dick Cheney aide Ron Christie to debate whether the Democrats folded on privacy rights in allowing the passage of expanded warrantless wiretapping of American citizens. However, the guests seemed more interested in arguing about the legislation itself and attacking one another than in discussing whether the Democrats could have defeated the bill.

I have noticed that the local talk hosts ( on liberal radio) have started talking a lot more about other things like local issues and FAUX news and yet even more B* stupidity than the lack of government in DC even with the demodorps in control..
It is kind of like the J&P group deciding that since demonstrations didn’t work they would just throw these STUPID MORONS on the school board out of office only to run into countless hurtles and financial road blocks,
When will they discover what most of the rest of world already knows ..that dealing with the SBR often requires the applied use of a figurative 2X4. :reaper: :reaper: :tommygun: :tommygun:
I’m listening to that exchange between Sen Dodd and O’Lielly and the thing I’m noticing with him is that he considers his opinion as a fact. What an ass. You know, I think I came back from that camping trip on 9/11 and entered a parallel reality, seriously. :tinfoil:

Yeah Druid that’s why we have to think of Bill Clintdork as one of the best Rebublican presidents of the 20th century..RayGun and Slick Willy both failed to act in the public interest and Slick Willy did little or nothing to correct the things done by RayGun or to prosecute the people in his administration and with NAFTA and media deregulation even made it worse .. I don’t see how Hillary will be any different. :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :fist:

Good morning…
Y’know…all money is dirty or has been through dirty hands…I think that what edwards and obama are saying is that the overt buying of attention has to stop. The business of Lobbying has to be regulated, as I see it…
al of this free for all benefitting the rich comes from deregulation and defunding education…syop teaching ethics, government, philosophy, decision making, and soon thats what you have….a population that doesnt even know what to ask.
So, if we are supposed to spend out time going through every dollar that has ever been collected rather than to look at the big picture…well…isnt that sorta the kind of busywork that they would dlike us to be doing while they take over?
China threatens ‘nuclear option’ of dollar sales
The Chinese government has begun a concerted campaign of economic threats against the United States, hinting that it may liquidate its vast holding of US treasuries if Washington imposes trade sanctions to force a yuan revaluation

The problem with most politicians is that they are not educated in the proper subjects to allow them to make the proper decisions. They rely a lot on their staff ( who are who ??) and lobbyists to write the legislation for them . Unless you can see the groups who they are likely to respond to and get their info from it is hard to see why they voted like they did. You typically vote for the face, the delivery and the BS they say while campaigning.. Most individuals never pay attention to how they vote once they are in office unless they do something that effects them directly.
A politician getting $$$ from CEO’s, stock brokers and bankers is not likely to vote for programs favoring the individual. :reaper: :reaper:
Making a mistake especially with a senator lasts a political forever. and they can do a lot of damage in the mean time.. :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :fist:

Flooding in New York’s subway lines ground the morning commute to a halt on Wednesday, angering New Yorkers who are facing rail and utility fee hikes to support an aging infrastructure.
Every subway line coming into Manhattan was affected by flooding after a severe storm before dawn ripped roofs off houses, caused power outages and triggered tornado warnings.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070808/ts_nm/newyork_transport_dc
We had quite a storm. Lots of thunder and lightning. My dog, Emily the Lion Hearted, hid in a closet while water, too torrential for the drain’s capacity, took a detour through the basement. A 10 minute trip to my mother’s house was an hour. People drove on sidewalks and tried to make 2 lanes on one lane streets. Of course, blocking intersections was elevated to a high art, making matters much worse. NY drivers re aggressive and creative in their efforts to get ahead. They’re also IDIOTS ’cause those efforts always make things worse.
The chairman of the Clark County Republican Party — who last month was elected president of the Young Republican National Federation — has resigned both posts, apparently in the wake of a criminal investigation.
On Tuesday afternoon, Glenn Murphy Jr. e-mailed media outlets a letter announcing his resignation from both positions, citing an unexpected business opportunity that would prohibit him from holding a partisan political office.
However, the Clark County Sheriff’s Department on Friday began investigating Murphy for alleged criminal deviate conduct — potentially a class B felony — after speaking with a 22-year-old man who claimed that on July 31, Murphy performed an unwanted sex act on him while the man slept in a relative’s Jeffersonville home.

This is getting a bit repetitious, don’t you think?
The day the East River comes over it banks at the height of rush hour and floods everything it will look like a cross between that asteroid movie and a movie of the Titanic going down.. It will make good TV if there are any TV networks left above water to produce it. :reaper: :reaper:
The theme of the movie will be that of members of the special forces rushing through the rising waetrs as thousands of commuters perish in torrents of water flooding into the subway tunnels to save the computers on WalStreet. :jason: :jason:
The East River came over the sea wall ten or so years ago. It breached the wall along the FDR Drive and, ’cause the drive dips in places, left some cars almost completely under water.
I was on the FDR that day and within minutes water was midway up my car door. Somehow the car didn’t stall and I got to higher ground, where I was stuck for 4 hours. The car seemed to survive but the horn took 3 weeks before it would work again.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, long considered one of the nation’s most conservative appellate courts, is shifting to a moderate direction with the balance up for grabs. A growing list of vacancies — now five — has left the court evenly divided between Republican and Democratic appointees.
With an election year approaching, experts predict the court will tilt decisively to the left if Democrats keep control of Congress and reclaim the White House.

Forgive me for secretly wishing a riot would break out at yesterday’s AFL-CIO debate.
The audience members were so frustrated and so sincere and I am so tired of the “When I’m elected…” promises that never seem to be actually carried out. Not that the candidates are insincere, but in my experience, little actually changes on the issues that matter most to us.
It’s high time for the pitchforks, fellow peasants!
from the article at:
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2007/jul2007/conf-j27.shtml
“…What Sheehan has gone through and the conclusions she has already drawn have a genuine significance. The logic of the situation has driven her to recognize that ending the war requires working outside the two-party system.
There is growing and widespread anger in the population, which Sheehan expresses. She is politically sincere, not dominated by layer upon layer of corruption and all the double-dealing of the Democrats and their hangers-on. The political job ahead is not “convincing†the war criminals in Washington, but of creating a new party, a new social power, aligned with the international working class in a struggle against war and social inequality.”
Metro Denver in just in the process of completing a project they called TREX which widened I25 to six lanes in a part of town where it runs through a trench of sorts . In the “old days ” when we had a hard rain that part of the highway flooded quite often with six or eight feet of water .. the major reason was that the drainage is into the Platte river and there is only about two feet difference in elevation. As the south burbs expanded the Platte became the major drainage channel so when it came up during a hard rain it occasionally ran back up the storm sewer onto the highway.. TREX supposedly fixed that problem with electronic controlled valves and pumps .. On Sunday night we got about two inches of rain in a half hour more or less city wide and the power went off.. and .. the water came back.. 😮 😮
The TREX project was of course designed on the Republicans watch. :reaper: :reaper:

Gee, in NYC we get stupidly designed infrastructure on everybody’s watch. In fact, we have buildings and boondoggles that are associated with every administration.
We are a bipartisan disaster.
If a third party is not part of public financing of elections it will be of no avail. $$$ are very corrosive and in no time corrupt everything. The way legislation gets to the house floor is by means of the majority party introducing it . You would have to have more than 50% of both parties in the house joining the third party for there to be no house majority. Sounbds like a go nowhere experience and in the six or so years it takes to figure that out things will just get worse and worse. :reaper: :reaper: :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :fist:
It would more productive to put ones effort into organizing a Vigilance committee. :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :fist:
Druid, for a party that likes to yell “Flipflopper” the Rethugs sure do like personal flipfloppong when it comes to sex. I know what the Rethugs really are but I can’t settle in my brain how they manage to come off as just the opposite.
I don’t know, Fred. it seems to me that if campaigns were publically finanaced and therefore one could NOT give money to a pol, that they would have to concentrate on winning elections by getting the MOST votes.
On second thought, that would lead to the majority making decisions and we all have seen that the majority of Americans are IDIOTS.
You’re right, Fred, all is lost.

#65, is interesting. Essentially it says that the decrease in poverty that accompanied the industrial revolution was the result of societies adopting (or inheriting) :
The middle-class values of nonviolence, literacy, long working hours and a willingness to save …
So I guess the preznit’s violent, non-reading, vacationing and deficit incurring behavior is what it appears to be….
a throw back that will lead us to greater poverty. And, it is certainly working.
hey guys…I posted a blog post on john edwards site and if it gets 5 votes they will post it: its here and you go to vote submissions in the upper right hand corner…and then find my post on the list of submissions (currently #2) and vote for it if you like it…!!
might have to go into blog and the section is arguments and analysis…I dont know…I get right in.
#65 is interesting but they can’t seem to explain the Industrial Revolution. Simple as cheap energy, coal leading into oil.
National Weather Service meteorologists, investigating storm damage in the Bay Ridge area with New York City Emergency Management officials, have confirmed that a tornado did in fact touch down on parts of Brooklyn Wednesday morning.
The tornado’s heavy winds, estimated to have been up to 111 to 135 miles per hour, tore through sections of Brooklyn, damaging roughly 40 buildings and downing dozens of trees. Residents in the Bay Ridge, Flatbush and Sunset Park neighborhoods reported damaged houses and hundreds of crushed cars along several blocks.

New York is not renowned for its weather but tornadoes have not been a usual feature.
