I had an idea of something to say, but now I have no idea what it was. Lack of sleep will do that, I guess. If you stop hearing from me, it’s probably because I nodded off, went off the road, and died in a fiery car wreck. Not that car wrecks are usually fiery (except on teevee).
The lo-cal weather dude did a comparison of how much snow we typically get here when Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow vs. when he doesn’t (why we outsource this shit to PA, I don’t know; we could use the jobs here, and I’m sure there are plenty of people locally who’d be willing to hang out in a stump for a few hours). Seems that if Phil predicts six more weeks of winter, we average 47″ of snow. Whereas, when he predicts an early spring, we average 49″. So, by my reckoning, that means we average four feet of snow between now and the end of the season. Which I guess is about 40% of our annual average.
Of course, we’ve had a real snow dearth here (no complaints), and have only had like 32″ or something. That doesn’t mean we won’t get another four feet. Hell, we’ve had four feet in one storm before. But we’re just gonna have to hope that doesn’t happen.
I’m hoping things get warm and stay warm.
Not sleeping is truly awful. It was the biggest part of the reason I retired.
Ann Coulter defended Romney’s Massachusetts healthcare law as a triumph of conservative principles and said the difference between Romney’s plan and Obama’s is that Obama’s is unconstitutional.
Phil Klein of the Washington Examiner said she was guilty of “defend[ing] big government social welfare policy as conservative and treat[ing] conservatives like they’re too dumb to understand the difference.”
I do believe Mr. Klein has missed the point: conservatives are too dumb to know the difference.

Are racists dumb? Do conservatives tend to be less intelligent than liberals? A provocative new study from Brock University in Ontario suggests the answer to both questions may be a qualified yes.
The study, published in Psychological Science, showed that people who score low on I.Q. tests in childhood are more likely to develop prejudiced beliefs and socially conservative politics in adulthood.

The script for the closing scene of what would become a classic television comedy moment in 1972 had Sammy Davis Jr. — playing himself — posing for a snapshot beside the likable bigot Archie Bunker after stopping by the Bunker home to pick up the briefcase he had left in Archie’s cab….
🙁 :gate:
In honor of the day, I should have some Woodchuck Cider. Or another beer. I think I’ll go with the beer.
It’s been a pretty quiet warm winter here so far but we’re bracing for a record Febuary storm- a predicted 12 to 24 ” in the next 24 hours, blizzard conditions. :omg: :cold:
Someone at a meeting today asked the chief suit if we might close down tomorrow. Romneyesque style, he said he might lock us all in…, and then laughed a Romneyesque laugh…… 😥
Yea! The loathsome Rand gravatar is gone :yippee:
