So, the new Monica-gate isn’t nearly as salacious as the old one was. Of course, she’s a good, Christian girl, so she’d never give anybody head, I’m sure. Not without a bottle or two of Giacobozzi, anyway. I must say, for somebody with such an important job in the DOJ, she sure sounded like kind of a twit. Can’t be too dumb, though; she was smart enough to get immunity before she testified. Is it Friday yet?

Haven’t had a chance to pay much attention to anything the last few days, but from what I gather, the Democrats caved and AAR sucks. In other words, nothing new going on. I gave up on AAR already anyway, and as for the Democrats, well, I never exactly had great expectations for them. Still, I can’t help but think about what a continued rubber stamp Congress would be doing right now. It may not seem like much, but it’s something.

What? It’s only Tuesday? Damn, this has been a long friggin’ week. At least there’s a three-day weekend to look forward to.

So, I have to go to work today. Damn, it’s been a long time since that happened. Five days a week, day-in/day-out. “What a revoltin’ development,” as Chester A Riley used to say (you youngsters will have to look him up on the google, I guess). That’s no way to live, is it? I’d have preferred to have at least another week or so off (who the hell woulda figured I’d get a damn job so fast), but, since the government checks quit coming (last one was in April), I reckon the sooner I get started the better. It’s gonna take a while to get used to it, that’s for sure. The last time I had to get up and go to work in the morning (not counting that dreadful summer in DC, of course), I had Morning Sedition to wake up to, so it was actually a pleasure to get out of bed. Now, I got nothing. This is gonna take some getting used to.

Booblehead Thread

So, let’s see….

On Press the Meat, Timmy hosts two old white guys with white hair – Chris Dodd and Newt Gingrich – on to debate the Iraq occupation. Not sure what’s to debate, there. Maybe: Iraq, big mistake, or the biggest mistake ever? Then, just in case you thought Newt was insignificant, it’s a roundtable on “The Reagan Diaries” with Tulane history professor Douglas Brinkley, and two of Reagan’s “Troika,” Ed Meese & Michael Deaver.

I don’t know who’s on Faze the Nation this week, ‘cuz it doesn’t say on their website, and I’m figuring it aint worth spending time looking for.

On Fux News Sunday, weaselface Wallace hosts Chuck Schumer and l’il Lindsey Graham, and then Sandra Day O’Connor will be on to tell us how proud she is that she helped put dubya in office.

At Goebbels, George Snufalufagus hosts Nancy Pelosi, plus Mitch “the prick” McConnell. Then, at the roundtable, it’s Katrina vanden Heuvel, Fareed “token” Zakaria, and the ever-annoying George :jerk: Will. Then it’s somebody named Rachael Ray (who is apparently a talk show host), on to tell us how bake sales will end childhood hunger (whattya say you just give the kids what you bake, and eliminate the middleman?).

Wolf Blitzer’s Late Emission consists of Cryptkeeper Michael Chertoff, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, Carl Levin, a few other politicians, some non-CNN hacks, and some CNN hacks, plus the only Republican candidate for president that seems capable of thinking in non-comic book terms, Ron Paul.

They aren’t boobleheads, but don’t forget to listen in to the premiere of the Sam Seder Show at 4 PM Eastern. The show will only be two hours this week, apparently because (surprise, surprise) AAR didn’t get its shit together in the month and a half they’ve had to do it. Anyhow, Sam’s guests are Bill Scher, Atrios, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Ellen Ratner.

Later, on 60 Minutes, Steve Kroft tells us how the Coast Guard is in worse shape than it was $24 billion ago, Anderson Cooper has a charming story about how hospitals put homeless patients in a van or a taxi and drop them on Skid Row, with their asses hanging out of a hospital gown and not healthy enough to take care of themselves, and Lesley Stahl tells us how Cambodia and Brazil are doing in putting laptops in the laps of every one of their kids.

Then, it’s usual Sunday night stuff. Enjoy.

Haven’t really been around the news or the computer in the past few days, so I have no idea what’s going on. My guess is that it’s the same old shit that’s always going on. Anyhow, for those of use who aren’t in the Seattle area, here’s a little taste….

So, Wolfie’s gone at the end of June. Good thing his girlfriend makes the big bucks. If you’re gonna see Marc tonight (or this weekend), tell him we say hello.

Some sad news to report today. My wife is leaving me. Fortunately, it’s only for two weeks, as she heads out to visit her three daughters, and her new granddaughter. Still, it means I’ll have to clean the litter boxes – a chore for which I have not been inserviced (and which I really have no desire to learn).

But there’s even worse news to report, I’m afraid. My all-too-brief summer vacation is near an end, as I will be rejoining the working world next Monday. It’s not so much for me that I feel bad, as it is for the poor dog, who has gotten very, very used to having me around all the time. He hasn’t been stuck home alone all day in quite some time. I don’t know how to tell him.

OK, so now the Deputy AG is gone. Do they think that’ll save Gonzo? Or is McNulty just fed up with their bullshit, and ready to spill his guts? Time will tell, I guess.

I didn’t catch Lionel yesterday, but from what I understand, he was just fucking wonderful. Oh well, Sammy’s new show finally starts on Sunday. At least there’s something still on AAR worth listening to (for now, anyway).

Holy shit! We’re halfway through May already. It’ll be winter before you know it.
