Well, this is the last Wednesday I’ll have to head up to campus for a while.  The bad news is I have to get three final projects put together – the first one being due on Friday.  At midnight, I hope.  Have I mentioned today how much I hate this stuff?  Oh well, better get going.  See ya.

Got a little bit of snow yesterday (finally).  Not much, but enough to cover the ground, and make all trees look pretty.  It’s so much nicer when there’s snow on the ground – it really brightens things up.  And of course Siggy loves it.  Anyway, I really am drowning in end of the year shit, here, so I guess I’d better get rolling.  See ya.

Here we go, another week.  Looks like Al Gore was the big winner in the MS 2008 Primary race.  Interesting that the top two vote getters aren’t even running (so they say).  If you take a look at who’s running, it looks like an Edwards/Obama ticket (which might not actually be so bad; perhaps we’re ahead of the curve, here).  If we’re all still around in ’08, we’ll have to see how close we came.  Lots-o-shit to do, so I reckon I’d better get going.  Enjoy.

Not much time, so this’ll have to be a quickie.

On Press the Meat, Timmy Potatohead hosts consigliere della sicurezza nazionale, Stephen Hadley, who will tell us how, when he wrote that Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki was a loser, he meant it in a nice way.  Then it’s the Armed Services Committee’s John Warner and Carl Levin, on to tell us what’s worse – a recycled CIA hack, or Rummy staying on the job.  Plus, it’s Jimmy Carter on to tell us what great job dubya’s been doing, and to talk about his new book, “Palestine Peace Not Apartheid.”
On Faze the Nation, it’s an all Republican day, as Bush Buddy Bobby Scheiffer trots out Stephen Hadley again, plus Republican Senators Chuck Hagel and Joe Lieberman.

On Fux News Sunday, Fuxface Chrissy Wallace hosts li’l Lindsey Graham, and Seator MBNA, Joe Biden.  Plus, an “exclusive” with Justice Stephen Breyer.

Over on the Goebbels network, well, this must be Stephen Hadley, I guess.  Plus George Snufalufagus thosts Evan Bayh and Tom Vilsack, so discuss why they’re trailing so badly in the Morning Seditonists poll,
and at the roundtable, it’s George :jerk: Will, Martha Raddatz, and David Corn. Plus, Richard Dreyfuss will be on to see if he can possible be more annoying on This Weak than he was on Bill Maher a couple of weeks ago.

As for CNN, who really cares?

Later, on 60 Minutes, Bob Simon speaks with a Rwandan genocide survivor, Lesley Stahl talks to Netflix founder Reed Hastings, and, well, Andy Rooney will probably whine about something or other.

Second to last episode for this season of The Wire.  Damn, these HBO shows go too fast.

Oh, and Happy Birthday to my sister, for whom I didn’t get a card, now that I think about it.  Oh well, at her age, it’s probably best to just forget about it.

Have a good ‘un.

A bit more seasonable today, about 30 degrees cooler than yesterday, and maybe a little snow. I’ll have to see how much got blown away with the wind last night, as soon as it gets light out.

By the way, the poll over there on the right is open to everybody, not just registered users, so you lurkers should feel free to vote. I’ll leave it open through the weekend, at least. Then I’ll try and think of something a little more original to ask. Suggestions are always welcome.

Have a good one.

Well, November is toast.  Now we can get to work on December, and get 2006 officially behind us.  Don’t forget, we get a full dose of the funny today, as Marc and Jim get one more crack at AAR before it goes bankrupt.  Call in and say hello, if you get a chance.

Supposed to be near or at record temperatures here today, before we plunge into something a bit more seasonable.  Doesn’t much matter to me, as I’ll be sequestered in my cave trying to figure out how the hell I’m gonna get everything done.  This sucks, but at least it doesn’t last much longer.

Well, it’s Wednesday again. And Wednesday’s kinda suck. I’ve been finding it very difficult to concentrate on doing the things I’m supposed to be doing, and I can’t believe it’s almost December already. Where the hell has 2006 gone? You know, when you’re a kid, you always hear the old folks talk about how fast time seems to be going, and you think “yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever,” but then you wake up up one day and go “holy shit, now I know what they were talkin’ about!” I spend so much time trying to get shit over with, I’m starting to be afraid that I’ll look up one day, only to find that I’ve successfully managed to get my life over with. And on that happy note, have a good day.

It was one year ago today that Morning Seditionists went live.  I think it was the same day that Marc officially broke the news to us that the show was officially dead, but I’m not positive about that.  Anyhow, at the time, we only had a couple of weeks left of Morning Sedition.  I hadn’t been much for the old MS blog, mostly because I was generally trying to get my shit together and get ready for work, but in that last month and a half or so, I started going there quite a bit, trying to hold on to a piece of the show that got me out of bed and in the mood to face the day.  I thought for sure that damn petition would do some good, or at least the list and maps of the locations of the folks who signed it – over 1300 unique locations in 33 nations around the world – would make them see just how popular the show was.  Rather naive, I suppose.

I didn’t know if anybody would actually come over here, or, if they did, how long after the show was over that interest would die out, and that would be the end of that.  It’s hard to believe this place not only outlived both MS and the Mark Maron Show, but may damn well be around for the end of the the AAR era, too, though I’d prefer they get a true liberal bazillionaire (if there is such a thing) to buy them out, and hire somebody that knows how to run a radio network to manage it.
So, it turned out people actually did show up here.  In the past year, there have been over 165,000 visitors (about 450 a day, give or take), and about half of those are return visits.  That’s not exactly Yahoo numbers (good thing, because this damn web host is flaky enough as it is), but it’s not too shabby for a show that never got any promotion, was on in the middle of the night on the West Coast (if it was on at all), forced many of us to jump through all sorts of hoops just to listen to it, and required both a brain and sense of humor to appreciate.  It really was something special.

Anyhow, we made it to a year.  Let’s see if make it to two.

Take care, and no sucking up.

You know what the problem with four Sundays in a row is? Monday really, really sucks.
