Sunday Bobblehead Thread

Hey everybody, how’s it going? First off, Happy Birthday Melina! :cake: Hard to believe you’re 29 already – where have the years gone?

Secondly, I’m sorry, but I don’t have the time to do justice to the upcoming bobbleheads for today. I put in a god awful long day yesterday, and have another one to put in today. And tomorrow, and probably for the next couple of weeks. I’ll try not to bitch too much (I save that for my wife – she just can’t get enough of my bitchin’). I haven’t even had a chance to listen to the Friday Marc show yet.

But, as for today’s talking heads, Press the Meat has Teddy Kennedy plus Washington Times’ weenie Tony Blankley, Washington Post weenie David Broder, Ron Brownstein of the LA Times, and maybe Dee Dee Myers will give us a critique of the Snotty Scotty dismissal.

On Faze the Nation it’s retired Gen. John “Rummy Must Go” Batiste, the fourth and final Clinton Chief of Staff, John Podesta (maybe he’ll tell us how he thinks Josh will do under President Santos), and – still batshit crazy, but not crazy enough to think dubya’s doing a “heckuva job,” – Pat “man I hate to admit he’s Irish” Buchanan.

On This Weak with George Snufalufagus, it’s the gropenator, Ahnuld Schwanzenpuller, John “Please Don’t Run Again” Kerry and actress Gloria Ruben, on having to put on all that lizard makeup to play Condeleezza Rice.

Chris “Fuxface” Wallace has Jane Harman and Pete Hoekstra, plus former Chiefs of Staff Ken Duberstein and Leon Panetta.

On CNN’s Late Edition, it’s Arlen “isn’t that where Hank Hill’s from” Specter and Carl Levin.

Later, on 60 minutes, it’s some story on the “anti-aging” medical scam (I’m sure it’s not for your birthday, Melina), a story on Howard “Starbucks” Schultz, and,I dunno, probably some other shit, too.

So, anyway, carry on. I just hope I get to see the Sopranos tonight. :jesus:

Hey, happy Earth Day everybody. I hope y’all getout and enjoy it, since who knows if we’ll ever have another one. For me, I’ll be away for most of the day today, not doing anything make the world a bettter place, but trying to scramble together enough data for a project on 2.4 GHz interference. Oh well, at least the weather is supposed to suck, so I won’t feel like I’m missing out on anything.

Last night, we went to a town hall meeting focusing on the Iraq War. There was one person who spoke about how this thing has failed, and how we need to get out of there, and another who spouted the same old tired talking points about Saddam was bad, gassed his own people, yada, yada, yada.

Then there was a panel, made up of our elected officials (Congress, and the United States Senate), and those that are running against them. That is, they were all invited, but…

Our elected officials

On the other hand, we did get the three Democrats running against Jimmy Walsh (longtime Bush buttboy, and before that, he sucked a lotta Newt and Delay, too), and Steve Greenfield, who is runing for the Democratic nomination for US Senate, against Hillary Clinton. He was, by far, the highlight of the evening, and he’s got my vote in the primary.

My choice for the Democratric primary for Congress was also solidified, as Dan Maffei looks like a solid choice, even if he is pretty entrenched in the whole Democratic party machine. He’s shown up at peace events, and has said he oppopsed Iraq from the beginning. It’s very important to get this Walsh clown out, and I just hope Maffei can do it.

Enjoy your Friday.

It’s amazing. In the space of about a week, I’ve gone from being caught up on everything I needed to do, to feeling like I’m so far behind, I’ll never get caught up. It’s not a feeling I enjoy, and this time of the semester always has me questioning my decision to go back to school. Sometimes I think I’m getting too old for this shit. Oh well, at least things are going great in the rest of the world.

Wednesday Night Show

I think I’ll be making this the final show thread here, unless there’s some great hue and cry from the masses. Just about everybody who wants to talk about the show during the show is over at the show blog. Hey, wasn’t the show supposed to be made available for syndication this week (gee, can I use the word “show” a few more times)? I hope somebody picks it up.

Anyhow, on tonight’s show (there I go again), it’s Matt Calabresi from TIME Magazine, Kevin Phillips will talk about his book, American Theocracy: the Peril and Politics of Radical Religion, Oil and Borrowed Money in the 21st Centruty, and blogger Andy Ostroy, will be on to talk about Donny, Snotty Scotty, and Dummy the Decider.

I had to stay up way too late last night doing stuff, so I have no idea what’s going on in the world, and it may be a few days before I get a chance to find out. You guys better keep an eye open for a mushroom cloud, and let me know if something’s going down.

No Clippers to worry about tonight, so we all get the same show. And on the show tonight, it’s Robert Greenwald (whose movies you can buy here), Drummer Dave Rowntree, and reporting live from Nepal, it’s Angus McFarquhar. To call the show, ring Stepahnie Miller’s number, and ask her if she’ll take a message.

Here we are, at the start of yet another week. We ended last week with dubya giving Rummy an attaboy. I find it hard to believe he’ll last ’til the end of the month, but then I find it hard to believe he’s lasted this long. We’ll see what this week brings, I guess.
