So, the big day has arrived. If the little varmint sees his shadow, it means six more weeks of winter. Otherwise, it means another month and a half of winter. Or something. I never really got the whole thing. Couldn’t they just say, if it’s cloudy it’s one thing, and if it’s sunny, it’s the other? They they could leave the poor little bastid in peace. I guess to celebrate, I’ll go rent that movie with Bill Murray, and watch it over, and over and….

Since they asked me nicely (and since it’s easier than trying to come up with something original to say), I’m going to plug MoveOn’s virtual march on Washington to stop the Iraq escalation.

MoveOn is hoping to flood Senate offices with 1 million messages, and they’re asking everybody to sign up for a time to call their senator today? You can sign up at:

http://pol.moveon.org/virtualmarch/?rc=iraq_moveon_bloggers

and you can see what times others signed up for, so calls can be spread throughout the day. And, you can even opt to get a text message reminding you to call.

I think you should also demand that Marc Maron get a daily radio show, but, hey, that’s up to you.

Happy February.

Man, it’s the last day of January already. Before you know it, it’ll be spring again. But first, gotta get through another hump day.

Man, got a two page paper (single spaced, too – the bastid) to pull out of my butt by tomorrow. On the bright side, my professor for my “capstone” course project – the equivalent of a master’s thesis – is OK with my project idea. On the not so bright side, I have no freakin’ clue how the hell to do it. Guess I’ll have to go with my standard modus operandi – smile and nod and say OK a lot. Kinda like being married.

Well, I hope all you commie-pinko war protesters enjoyed yourselves, ‘cuz it’s back to work today. I was quite lazy and didn’t take the dog out at all over the weekend, so if I don’t get him out today, I’ll be in big trouble – bludgeoned to death by a blunt nose. We’ll see how long it takes for the CSI guys to figure that one out. Plus, I have to go to freakin’ class tonight, too. Sucks.

Sunday, and time to play “who’s the token Democrat” (aka, Peace Demonstration? What Peace Demonstration?) on our fine “news” programs. First, up, on with Dick Cheney’s puppet, Timmy Potatohead, it’s the Republican governor of Arkansas and Iraq War Supporter, Mike Huckabee, Chuckles “voted for the war” Schumer, Republican war supporter David Vitter od Louisiana (how’s that rebuilding of New Orleans going Davey?), former dubys speech write and war supporter Michael Gerson, and Iraq war supporter Ken Pollack, of the Brooking’s Institution.

Over at Faze the Nation, Republicans Mitch “the prick” McConnell (pro War), and Arlen “I’m moderate until I vote” Specter (pro War) double team Jim Webb. Doesn’t seem like a fair fight, does it? They ought to toss a couple more of these lightweight candyassed Republicans out there to help out.

On Fux News Sunday, weaselface Wallace hosts Republicans Sam Bareback Brownback (pro War) of krazy Kansas, and smarmy traitor (and pro-est of pro War douchebags) Joe “Zell” Lieberman.

Over at Goebbels, it’s Senator MBNA (pro War), and Republican Dick Lugar (pro War), plus Republican Fuckin’ Duncan Hunter (pro War), on to let us see just how delusional he is. At the Roundtable, it’s WaPost Columnist E.J. “grey poupon” Dionne and former Pentagon spokesbitch Torie Clarke, Martha Raddatz, and George :jerk: Will. Plus, for some reason, Kevin Bacon.

For CNN’s Late Emission, Woof “please don’t hurt me Mr. Cheney” Blitzer’s guests include war supporters Jay Rockefeller, asshole Jon “Krazy” Kyl, token black Republican Michael Steele, and Chris Dodd, as well as Donna “loser” Brazile.

Later, on 60 Minutes, Steve Kroft reports on the rise of the Geeks (yes, be afraid. be very, very afraid). Bob Simon reports on Joe Dresnok, who defected to North Korea in 1962, and Morley Safer reports on probably the world’s most eloquent autistic savant, Daniel Tammet.

Plus, there’s all the usual Sunday night fare. Enjoy.

Today’s the big demo day down in DC, and other places around the country. If Granny finds WiFi, she’ll hopefully be able to live blog, and let us know what’s going on. Otherwise, she’ll be able to e-mail me some pictures from her phone. Last I heard, it’s gonna be broadcast by CSPAN, and LinkTV often puts these things on as well, so look for her on stage with the rest of the Raging Grannies. She’ll be the one with the silly hat. Supposed to be a balmy 30 degrees here today, so all the fairweather dog walkers will probably be out crowding the park. Bastids. I much prefer the crappy weather. Oh well, I guess I’d better get some work done so I can watch the festivities on the Span later on. Have a good one.

Whoopie, it’s Friday. Granny and Junior are off to DC later on today, in preparation for the big rally tomorrow. So, looks like Siggy and I are on our own. Maybe we can get some hookers.

After spending more time than I probably should have, I managed to move everything over to the new host, ditching the old one. I also have my stuff spread out over four domains (five, if you count sedition radio), which will hopefully make everything easier to deal with. I shouldn’t say it, but after a couple of rough days, things seems to be working OK here now. Let’s hope it stays that way. Next up, I guess (and I’m not in any hurry – or in any position, time-wise to start on it), is to start working on creating a community site. We’ll see if I ever actually get around to it. What I really need is a nice long nap.
