Tuesday Night Show

Looks like a late start tonight. With the Clippers tipoff set for 7:30, expect a good hour or so delay. It doesn’t get much better over the next couple of weeks, either, with a 7:00 game on Wednesday, and 7:30 games Friday, and next Mon, Wed, and Fri, too. Supposedly the show goes into syndication begining on the 17th, though, so we should see full two-hour shows form there on out. If we can figure out when it’ll be on, and where we can listen to it, of course.

If you want to call the show, it’s:

1 (877) 520-1150 or
1 (800) 783-7412

I like Tuesdays, because I don’t have to go to class. But, I dislike Tuesdays, because I usually have a ton of shot to do for my Wednesday morning class, which is the case once again this week. Plus I have a virtual meeting with my “team” later on tonight, because there’s apparently some big group project we need to do. Or something. I dunno. I really need to look at this stuff once in a while. Even worse, I’ve only really been able to do hit and run looks at the news and political sites, so I feel woefully underinformed. Is Cheney still a Dick? I dubya still a dummy? Is it true that Condi has to trade her hair in for offical, Army-issue armor?

Damn, it’s hard to believe that a loss of one stinking hour would be so hard to get over, but I still feel like I’m walking around in a big bowl of Jello (and with another damn test tonight to study for).

Of course, our thoughts are with Kat today, as she heads off to the shop to get some work done. Here’s hoping for the briefest possible hospital stay (having worked, waited, and spend some time in hospitals, I think I’m justified in saying they suck). I’m sure Kat will be out and running marathons again in no time. Mike’s got the toughest job of the day, spending all those hours in the waiting room (and being tortured by CNN – or worse, Fox News – while he waits). Everybody start sending out that positive energy at about 8:00 this morning, and keep putting it out ther for the rest of the day.

Sunday Bobblehead Thread

The bad news is that we got screwed out of an hour’s sleep last night. The good news is there should be plenty of time to make up for it during most of this week’s bubblehead shows. First, grab a nap as Timmy Potatohead boasts an “exclusive” with the only “straight-shooter” that can shoot, not only around the corner, but probably all the way around the block, John McCain. He’s just back from Iraq, so let’s see if toes the “it’s all the media’s fault” party line. You may want to keep one eye open for (forcibly) retired General Anthony Zinni, who was drummed out of the military and demonized by the likes of Richard Perle (who, for example, on the May 24, 2004 Hannity and Colmes called Zinni an outrageous liar, and “fundamentally anti-Semitic”), for having the audacity to speak the truth about the neo-cons war planning.

On Fazed the Nation, Bushbuddy Bob Schieffer talks immigration with Dick Durbin of IL and racist facist James Sensenbrenner of WI, plus slimeball hack David Brooks of (much as it pains me to say it) the NY Times.

Over on ABC, it’s more immigrant villification, with Barack “no censure” Obama and racist Republican (is that redundant?) George Allen of VA on This Weak with George Snufalufagus. Plus, at the roundtable, it’s little Robert Reich, Martha Raddatz and George :jerk: Will. Then, if you hvan’t gotten a nap in yet, now’s the time as George Will offers to hold Jimmy Rollins’ Louisville Slugger as he (Jimmy, not George) “approaches” Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game hitting streak (note to ABC, 20 games away isn’t really “approaching,” and, by the way, who really gives a shit?).

And, what’s this? All that Liberal Media out there, and it’s Fux News Sunday with Chris “Fux Face” Wallace that has Russ Feingold on to talk about censure? Then petulant little closet queen Lindsey Graham will talk about immigration reform, and then a discussion on “breaking down wall between law enforcement and intelligence gathering” (or, “gee, who wouldn’t want a Big Brother?”).

CNN, I think, will be doing a three-hour exposé on how many poeple were late for church today because they didn’t set their clocks ahead. I expect much bubble-headed giggling to ensue.

Later, on 60 Minutes, it’s time to ramp up the fear mongering, as Osama bin Hidin’s former bodyguard tell Bob Simon that he’s sure Osama has something bad planned for us, Leslie Stahl reports that Americans work more hours than anybody else in the developed world (I’m sure dubya would think that’s just great), and Steve Kroft reports on how GM is making great cars, but still in dire straights financially (let’s see how long it takes for the union bashing to start).

Now, let’s hope you got some good rest in, because it looks like Tony’s on his way back on tonight’s Sporanos. Time to whack Uncle Junior, or what?

Saturday, and lots to do (as usual) before Monday gets here. I guess I’d better buy a lotto ticket so I can retire.

Friday Night Show

Clippers game tonight, and a late start, so the show should be at least an hour late and short. Hopefully Bill Maher will at least be good. Last week wasn’t bad, since the token Republican wasn’t a drooling, jabbering, annoying idiot, as some of them (you’ll be shocked to hear) are.

Tonight’s also Brendan’s last night with the show before heading back to the AAR mothership. Good luck with that.

If anybody makes it out to Marc’s show tomorrow, tell him and Jim and Mishna we all say ‘hey.’ Tell them to do a show in Syracuse some time, too. I can probably get him a gig at the used guitar store.

As always, you can call the show at:

1 (877) 520-1150 or
1 (800) 783-7412

Here we are, Friday again. Week after week just keeps flying by, and this weekend, we’re screwed out of an extra hour to boot. Add to that the hour of Marc we’re getting screwed out of thanks to the Clippers game tonight. The Senate Judiciary is scheduled to take up Russ Feingold’s proposal to censure Bush today, so that might be interesting, especially with John Dean and Bruse Fein scheduled to testify. Arlen Specter is floating the idea that the measure could fail in committee, but be sent to the floor for a vote by the full senate anyway. I suppose the weasels are still doing their head counts, trying to embarass anyone who votes for censure. It sure would be nice if it backfired on them.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. and Mrs. FK today (as FK has her pre-op work done), and of course on Monday when she has her little “procedure.” Mike, you’d better take care of her, and, while we know you have more pressing matters to attend to, we’d all appreciate an update as soon as you get a chance.

Looks like an on-time show tonight, although you never can tell with KTLK. But, as far as I can tell, it’ll be a full two-hour show. Tonight, Marc and Jim talk to Steve Buscemi, and Annabelle Gurwitch will talk about her book, Fired: Tales of the Canned, Canceled, Downsized and Dismissed. Also, Hamell on Trial will sing some songs from his new album, Songs for Parents Who Enjoy Drugs.

If you want to call in, it’s:

1 (800) 783-7412

Usually, Thursdays are one of my days off, but today I have to go and give a presentation on honeypots. I think. It’s something I (like an idiot) volunteered to do for a meeting that was supposed to be today, but nobody ever sent any confirmation that there was actually gonna be a meeting today (let alone exactly when and where), so I don’t know what the hell I’m supposed to do. My dog says I should blow it off, and go and enjoy the nice weather by taking him to the park again. He’s a very smart dog.
